PROPOSALS

Proposals for exhibitions are welcomed throughout the year, although space availability is not guaranteed. Each proposal is carefully evaluated by our curatorial team in line with our overall curatorial vision and the shows currently in place.

 

We encourage proposals from both emerging and established artists, and welcome solo, group, or collaborative shows.

While artists are responsible for managing their own administrative tasks for exhibiting with SOHO Studio, our curatorial team will regularly liaise with the main contact person to discuss curatorial ideas, installation needs, any required additional marketing, and any issues that may arise. We provide discounted framing services to exhibiting artists, a range of plinths and a basic tool kit. However, any specific installation requirements will need to be purchased by the artist.

At SOHO Studio, our curatorial team is dedicated to creating a diverse and engaging selection of exhibitions that contribute to the broader art conversation and provide exhibiting opportunities for artists of varying backgrounds and skill levels. We strive to build relationships and networks within the wider Sydney art scene and to equip artists with professional skills that they can apply to future projects.

SOHO Studio has two galleries available for hire:

​

  • Gallery One - $2115 per fortnight (inc. GST)

  • Gallery Two - $1415 per fortnight (inc. GST)

​

  • In addition to the hire fee, SOHO Studio takes a 25% commission plus GST on any sales made during the exhibition period.

  • The gallery hire includes a two-week exhibition period per show, we also offer marketing and promotion packages on SOHO's social media and website links, and a fortnightly newsletter that is sent to over 15,000 subscribers.

  • We provide Free Wi-Fi, hanging system and sound system, but anything specific to the installation will need to be provided by the artist.

  • First day of booking is allocated for bump-in.

  • SOHO staff will manage the opening event and bar service and cleaning (6pm-8pm on the first Thursday of the show period). 

  • 4 Plinths are available on request.

  • SOHO staffs the gallery six days a week (10am-5pm Mon-Sat) and is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

  • Delivery services - we offer full packaging and delivery locally, nationally and internationally.

  • Exhibiting artists are entitled to discounts on fine art framing and quality stretched canvases.
